During Your Stay

Water

Your room is already equipped with water-saving low-flow features so simply enjoy the amenities.  You can also conserve a significant amount of water over the course of your visit by using your towels more than once.  If you drop the towel on the floor, we will understand that you wish that towel to be replaced.  If you would like to reuse a towel, simply rehang it to reuse another time. 

Energy

All rooms at the Sonnenalp Resort are equipped with a master switch conveniently located by the door.  As you leave your room, simply utilize this switch to turn off all lighting and power use in the room until your return.  Everything else has been taken care of for you with high efficiency lighting and appliances throughout the hotel.

Waste

Your room is equipped with two waste containers.  One is for non-recyclable waste material and the other is identified as a receptacle for glass, aluminum, plastic and paper.  Simply take a moment to consider which option is appropriate and help us reduce the impact on our landfills and utilize these resources for use in recycled production.

Local Resources

We encourage you to relax and relish this beautiful valley we call home.  This natural setting is after all, the reason you are here.  With this freedom, however, comes a personal responsibility to respect the local resources and inhabitants.  Taking a few moments to learn about the landscape and how to interact in it without impact can make a big difference in alpine climates that take decades to accomplish the smallest amount of growth.  We encourage you to enjoy the field guides available in our library, investigate local resources such as the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, Gore Range Natural Science School, Ski Museum, 10th Mountain Division and Forest Service or experience the guided nature hikes offered through the Sonnenalp Resort.  Each presents an opportunity for you to discover even greater appreciation for this magical mountain escape.
